Scrum Journey

How to Get Trained

To become a Scrum Master, you can follow these steps:

  1. Understand the basics of Scrum: Before starting any training, it’s essential to learn about the Scrum framework, its roles, and its practices. You can start by reading the Scrum Guide, the official document that defines Scrum.
  2. Find a reputable training: To become a certified Scrum Master, you must attend a training program. During the training, you will learn about Scrum in-depth, and you will also get to participate in interactive exercises and simulations (Suggested training: Carpediem-scrum.com)
  3. Get certified: After completing the Scrum training, you can take a certification exam to become a certified Scrum Master. There are several certification options available, including the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification from Scrum.org and the Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
  4. Gain practical experience: To become a successful Scrum Master, you will need practical experience in applying Scrum in real-world projects. You can gain this experience by working on Scrum projects or by volunteering to be a Scrum Master for non-profit organizations or open-source projects.
  5. Keep learning: Scrum is an ever-evolving framework, and it’s essential to keep learning and staying updated with the latest practices and trends. You can attend advanced training programs, read books and blogs, and participate in Scrum events and communities to keep your knowledge up-to-date.
  6. Create a Resume: The job market continues to evolve and one has to be strategic when getting ready to apply for jobs. Either you can create or seek the help of a professional such as Coach J, to help you create a winning resume that will help you stand out.

Overall, becoming a certified Scrum Master requires a combination of learning, training, and practical experience. Following the steps mentioned above, you can start your journey to becoming a skilled Scrum Master.
